Dakota State University is Hiring an Associate Registrar Near Madison, SD

Dakota State University is seeking a dedicated professional who is not only attentive to details but also an innovative leader to join our team as the Associate Registrar. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a student-centered approach in everything we do. As an Associate Registrar, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our administrative processes, directly contributing to the success and satisfaction of our students and faculty.

Responsibilities:

  • Student Registration: Manage the student registration process efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with college policies and regulations. Provide guidance and support to students throughout the registration process, addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
  • Class Section Development: Supervise the development of class sections in collaboration with academic departments. Coordinate scheduling and faculty assignments to optimize course offerings and meet student needs. Maintain accurate records of class schedules and enrollment data.
  • Degree Audits and Academic Forms Processing: Assist in final degree audits for graduating students, verifying completion of degree requirements and eligibility for graduation. Process academic forms and requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.
  • Student Information System (SIS): Provide clear procedures and comprehensive documentation to students, faculty, and staff. This includes ensuring the accuracy of data, conducting regular system audits, and implementing updates as needed. Additionally, develop user manuals and training materials to facilitate efficient usage of the SIS across all stakeholders. Conduct training sessions for staff members to ensure proficient use of the system, and provide ongoing support to address any questions or concerns.
  • Record Retention: Manage the retention and archiving of academic records in compliance with institutional policies and legal requirements. Ensure the security and confidentiality of student records at all times.
  • Advising: Provide guidance to students and faculty on degree requirements, academic progression, and waivers. Assist students in understanding their academic goals and developing plans for successful degree completion. Collaborate with academic advisors and faculty members to support students’ academic and career aspirations.
  • Grading: Prepare mid-term deficiencies and final grades in accordance with college policies and deadlines. Collaborate with faculty members to resolve any grading discrepancies or issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in higher education. 
  • Advanced ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficiency with Student Information Systems (e.g., Banner) and other relevant software applications is preferred. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
